Bio
Shirani Benitez, executive director of consulting and system integration for National Equity, Inclusion and Diversity has been in this role since January 2025 having been an executive director at Kaiser Permanente in Member Relations since August 2017. In her executive roles, she ensures that the departments and teams deliver exceptional service and consultative support to employees, members, and stakeholders while adhering to the health plan and hospital needs of the organization. By focusing on workforce engagement, inclusion and belonging, and integrating enterprise needs strategically, Shirani helps enhance and evolve organizational structure and team dynamics.
Shirani’s leadership extends to overseeing a diverse team of specialists dedicated to resolving issues, identifying organizational risks, and aiding in employee engagement. Her commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment is evident in her efforts to cultivate a culture that focuses on people; team members, members and patients, and stakeholders to ensure common ground and exceptional service are provided to all.
Since joining Kaiser Permanente in 2002, Shirani has held various roles within the Health Plan, from Sales and Marketing to Member Services. Her passion for people, service, process improvement, risk identification, and leading teams to successful outcomes have made her an ideal fit within both service and consulting areas. Shirani’s dedication to improvement initiatives has been a driving force behind her efforts to standardize work, improve processes and technology, and enhance the service experience.
Shirani holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands and possesses multiple certifications, including her CA insurance sales license and Green Belt process improvement. As a mother of three girls, she balances family, work, and community involvement, driven by a common purpose of service to others. Her dedication to EID (equity, inclusion and diversity) extends beyond the workplace, as she actively participates in community initiatives that promote equity and inclusion.
