Bio
As Vice President, Care at Home for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals’ Southern California and Hawaii Markets, Angel manages and oversees clinical and operational performance of the Care at Home service line, which provides Home Health, Hospice, Home Palliative, Advanced Medical Care at Home (hospital at home), Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Medical Transportation Services (MTS) and Integrated Care Center services to over 406,000 unique patients thru approximately 1.7 million encounters annually. Angel, his medical group/hospital partners, and health plan team define the service line requirements, oversees internal & external partnerships, manages institutional risk, and drives clinical, quality, and care experience improvements for patients and their families across southern California and Hawaii service areas.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Angel was an active-duty Air
Force Officer, where he served in multiple roles, including:
Administrator, Primary Care Optimization Lead for the Hawaii market, Group Practice Manager, Medical Readiness/Emergency Management Officer, as well as Director over finance, personnel, information systems, logistics and contracting services at three different Air Force installations.
Angel holds a bachelor’s degree in management finance from Purdue University in Indiana, as well as two master’s degree in Business Administration and Health Administration from Baylor University in Texas.
Finally, Angel is a board-certified Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently serves as the Commander of the 452d Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, March Air Reserve Base California.
