Bio

Vivian Hoang is a strategic healthcare leader with 15+ years of experience at the convergence of finance, technology, and operations at Kaiser Permanente, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit integrated health systems, but her leadership story begins long before her current title.

Vivian built her career the unconventional way: starting in business valuation at Marsh and KPMG, moving through corporate finance, and crossing deliberately into healthcare IT operations. That non-linear path gave her something few leaders possess, a genuine, ground-level understanding of how organizations create value across finance, technology, strategy, and people.

Today, those experiences show up in results: a $120M+ project pipeline led, a $158M budget managed, $97M in vendor contracts negotiated, and a team culture built on accountability, innovation, and trust.

She leads by one simple mantra: “Don’t just climb the ladder, understand every rung.” To her, that means having the self-awareness to know where you stand personally, the emotional intelligence to navigate the landscape around you, and the intentionality to make your contributions count at every level. True leadership is not about reaching the top. It is about being fully present and purposeful wherever you are.

Looking ahead, Vivian is passionate about paying it forward, mentoring emerging leaders who, like her, may not see themselves reflected in traditional leadership pipelines. She also brings her early expertise full circle through consulting work specializing in intangible assets and business valuation, helping organizations understand and unlock the hidden value within their people, processes, and intellectual capital. She aspires to use her cross-functional journey to help others see that an unconventional path is not a detour, but often the very thing that makes a leader irreplaceable.

She holds an MBA from California State University, East Bay and dual degrees from UC Berkeley.
