Bio

Richie Wang is technology executive with more than 25 years of experience leading enterprise modernization initiatives across the private and federal government. Throughout his career, he has driven transformative programs spanning cloud migration, DevSecOps, enterprise architecture, geospatial systems, artificial intelligence, data dissemination platforms, and large scale public facing digital services. Known for building and leading high performing technical organizations, Richie has successfully aligned technology investments with mission outcomes, delivering innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen cybersecurity, and expand public access to critical government data.

As Assistant Division Chief for Spatial Data Systems at the U.S. Census Bureau provides strategic and technical leadership for geospatial platforms that support the bureau’s geographic programs. Previously, as Assistant Center Chief and Chief Dissemination Architect, he led the strategy, architecture, modernization, and cloud transformation of the Census Bureau’s enterprise data dissemination ecosystem that supports major programs like the decennial census, American Community Survey, economic surveys, and others. His work includes pioneering AI-enabled search and discovery capabilities, leading AWS cloud adoption efforts, and architecting award winning open data platforms that have become foundational resources for government, industry, academia, and the public.
