Huong Dang is an Internal Audit Executive with more than 25 years of experience driving financial reporting compliance strategy and operational excellence within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as the VP of Financial Compliance at Genesis Healthcare, Huong oversees SOX 404 compliance, risk management, and regulatory financial reporting. Notably, she was instrumental in establishing and navigating the company’s robust compliance infrastructure during its transition to the public market in 2015.

Prior to her role at Genesis Healthcare, Huong developed her deep expertise in governance as a Risk Advisory Director at KPMG and in senior leadership positions at Skilled Healthcare. Throughout her career, she has successfully built scalable compliance frameworks, led cross-functional teams through complex enterprise risk management initiatives, and earned a reputation as a data-driven leader who excels at bridging the gap between rigorous regulatory requirements and sustainable corporate governance.

Huong holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, a degree in Accounting and Finance from California State University, Fullerton, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In addition to her executive career, she is a speaker on governance and internal controls topics and a mentor to women entering the finance field. She resides in Santa Ana, California, where she is an avid reader of leadership and historical literature, and spends her free time cultivating a vibrant home garden—a reflection of her lifelong appreciation for patience, growth, and meticulous design.
