Bio

Carolyn Abrenica has two decades of expertise in designing, integrating, and testing advanced aircraft and spacecraft systems for Northrop Grumman. As program director in the Research and Advanced Design division of NG Aeronautics, she oversees the execution of a new development initiative.

Previously, Carolyn served as Engineering Functional Homeroom Director, shaping the vision and direction of an engineering team that supported multiple sector programs; as a program manager in the flight-test organization; and as a subsystems design and integration engineer.

Career highlights include:

  • Providing on-site flight-test support during four aircraft-carrier detachment periods for the X-47Bprogram.
  • Acting as the responsible engineer for the first metal additive-manufactured component ever installed on a military aircraft.
  • Leading the Gulfstream IV Flying Test Bed Triton Surrogate project, which earned the
    Engineers’ Council Distinguished Engineering Project Achievement Award.

Carolyn holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. in Engineering Management from California State University, Northridge.

Outside of work, she co-leads a Girl Scout troop and competes in speed jigsaw-puzzle events.
