Bio

Sean Gil brings over 35 years of combined experience in global investment banking, executive recruiting, and career services leadership to his role as Director of the Career Center at the University of California, Riverside. He has guided the center through transformative growth by strategically integrating career readiness into the academic experience and forging high-impact partnerships across campus and with employers. These partners include Fortune 500-level and major government organizations.

Under his leadership, initiatives such as the Career Readiness Assessment Team (CREATE) and the Faculty Ask Me Anything (AMA) series have strengthened connections between industry and academia, annually engaging more than 3,000 students from diverse disciplines. His efforts have earned national recognition, including finalist honors for both the NACE Career Excellence Award and the NACE Chevron Award. Regionally, his team was named the 2023 MPACE Most Valuable Organization, and he was personally recognized as the 2024 MPACE Most Valuable Person.

Prior to UCR, Sean advanced inclusion and access in career services at California State University Fullerton, where his work established targeted support for underserved student communities. He holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from CSU Fullerton, graduating with a 3.98 GPA. career readiness.
